Guam is a US territory south of Japan, east of the Philippines and home to stray dogs known as "boonie dogs". Our small island is currently home to over 60,000 pets.

We sadly do not have enough homes on island to foster or adopt all the pets of Guam, and every day there is a new litter of puppies being found. Our  foster programs on island are also at critical levels, and we simply do not have enough humans on island to care for the number of dogs we have. These animals need to find a home off island, but unfortunately it is extremely expensive to fly dogs to the US from Guam. Current estimates for a single adult dog range from $2,000-$4,000+ depending on size and weight...

But that is where the Boonie Flight Project comes in.

About Us

BOONIES READY FOR TAKE OFF!

We have found an economic solution help us get pets off island: PUPPIES! Puppies are able to be flown 2 to a crate, greatly reducing the cost of flying. We have also partnered with Animal Travel Agent LLC and Tails of Hawaii who both help us with the logistics of getting puppies to the mainland.

Since there is currently no TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program on island (in progress), these stray dogs breed faster than we are able to trap them. Leaving our hands FULL of puppies ready to find homes in the states.

Are you ready to welcome a Boonie Puppy, one of the most adorable mutts you could find, into your home?

What's a boonie?

Boonies are the super mutts of Guam. They have descended from dogs brought over in World War II, pets abandoned on island, and from the closed dog racing track. They are a lovely random mix of: German Shepherds, Beagles, Labs, Dobermans, Greyhounds, Corgis, Chihuahuas and many other breeds.

The results are very adorable, indestructible, varied sized dogs with hearts of gold.
